William S. McDonald

Bill McDonald serves as a consultant with a focus on commercialization and building domestic and international sales organizations and sales and customer service infrastructure. Bill founded and manages High Ground Medical, Inc. (HGM) in 2003. HGM is a commercialization management company which has built and launched several successful orthopaedic and osteobiologics companies. An experienced negotiator of licensing deals, divestitures, and acquisitions, Bill has consulted on the commercialization of several novel biomaterials and surgical devices.

Prior to founding HGM, Bill served as Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Orthovita (NASDQ: VITA), now Stryker Biomaterials. At Orthovita, he was instrumental in building both the dental and orthopedic businesses from $0 revenue to market leading positions. He has held management positions with several leading medical device companies including Synthes, Kirschner Medical (a Biomet company as of 1994), and Stryker. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science from Clarkson University in 1988.
