Liposana Cryopreserved Adipose Tissue

Cryopreserved adipose tissue Liposana Cryopreserved Adipose Tissue (CAT) is a fat allograft that offers an alternative to dermal fillers and autologous fat transfer. Liposana may be injected to benefit a wide variety of problems:

  • Metatarsalgia (forefoot pain)sesmoiditis, Morton’s neuroma which are related to fat pad atrophy
  • Uneven results after body contouring or liposuction
  • Soft tissue defects after traumatic injuries
  • Loss of fat or lack of fat volume affecting form or function in desired areas

When we are young, the body’s fat pads provide protection and cushioning. For example, the fat pads of the forefoot make walking comfortable. However, these fat pads become thinner with normal aging.

Bony prominences and nerves which rely on fat for cushioning are exposed to pressures and forces which may cause pain, wounds, and other complications.  Patients suffering from forefoot pain due to plantar fat pad atrophy may find their activities curtailed by the discomfort.

Fat defects can also be caused by cosmetic procedures which try to remove or sculpt subdermal fat. For example, failed plastic surgery (“botched liposuction”) or cold sculpting procedures can leave thighs lumpy and uneven. In these cases, fat injection may restore a more normal contour to the affected area.

Fat allografts offer patients long-lasting and natural results:
